ideas in action: big ideas, creative minds

A summer enrichment programme for young people aged 10–14 in Garston and Speke!

The Thinker CIC is developing Ideas in Action, a four-day programme combining creative activities, outdoor experiences, and structured discussions for young people in the local area.

The programme will take place during the week beginning 27th July (Monday–Thursday) and is designed to give young people the opportunity to try new things, meet others, and explore ideas about the world around them in an engaging and supportive environment.

Participants will take part in a range of activities, including graffiti art workshops, outdoor adventure and woodland crafts, creative writing, local heritage exploration, and guided discussions on topics such as creativity, identity, community, and decision-making. Each day combines practical experiences with opportunities to reflect, share ideas, and build confidence.

Ideas in Action has been shaped by feedback from young people in local schools, who have expressed a strong interest in creative, interactive activities and opportunities to discuss issues that matter to them. The programme responds to this by offering a space where young people can express themselves, develop new skills, and feel heard.

The project aims to support confidence, communication, and critical thinking, while also encouraging positive relationships and a stronger sense of connection to the local community.

The programme is open to young people aged 10–14 living in Garston and Speke who are interested in creativity, discussion, and trying something new.

We are currently inviting expressions of interest from young people, families, schools, youth organisations, and community partners. This is not a booking form at this stage. Expressions of interest will help us understand demand, shape delivery, and ensure the programme reaches those who would benefit most.

If you would like to express interest in taking part, referring a young person, or supporting the project, please e-mail info@thethinkerhub.com

We are also planning a follow-on creative event for Mischief Night (31st October), offering a positive and engaging activity for young people at a key time of year.
